Brief Description:  Advice from other builders

After finishing the brake lines inside the fuselage I took a break. But I was trying to figure out how best to install the fuel lines. Part of this appeared to need me inside the fuselage. I considered whether or not I should put the fuselage on the garage floor on a blanket. I was concerned that climbing inside might damage the structure.

Finally I sought advise from the builders at Doug's Vans Airforce website. I got back two almost identical answers the same day. I then called Van's and got the same answer.

"The inside frame will probably hold you up, but turning the fuselage/empenage on its side would be a hundred times easier."

So today I cleaned up most of the garage. Tomorrow our EAA chapter president agreed to stop by and help me put it on it's side. It probably doesn't weigh more than 80 lbs. but I don't want to take a chance dropping it. (It is an awkward tube about 17 feet long.
